Second generation landscaper grew up harvesting trees for transplant knee-deep in the mud, digging balled and barlapping trees since the age of 12 and at 14 started operating hydraulic tree spades and at 18 specimen tree crane transplants.
Then had a short span in the US Army MOS was a bravo 54 after getting out of the army at 21, I got married and HLS saw and valued my tree knowledge and really open the door to the whole spectrum of landscape to me.
Everything from irrigation, softscapes, hardscpaes and project management. There I went under intense training from what I believe from some of the best hands on teachers in the world who I really owe majors steps in my career to. The Christiansen family, Steve Brewer, Cid Morris, and throughout my development along the way at other companies Eddie and George Martinez, Keith Place, John Bachman and George Meeks and last but not least my father Reggie Artripe who put the first shovel in my hands
